Kevin Huerter of the Detroit Pistons is doubtful for Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a left adductor strain. Although he is showing minor improvements, there is no set timetable for his return.
Detroit — The Detroit Pistons have maintained relatively good health during the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs.
However, they have been without guard Kevin Huerter for an extended period. Huerter suffered a left adductor strain during Game 3 of the first-round series against the Orlando Magic, which took place at Kia Center on April 25. He has been sidelined ever since.
Before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, the Pistons listed Huerter as doubtful. There is currently no timetable for his return, despite minor improvements in his condition.
"He is taking steps," coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. "It's just one of those things where you do the work today and see how it turns out tomorrow. He is building in the right direction."
Since joining the Pistons at the NBA Trade Deadline in early February, Huerter has appeared in 25 games, averaging 8.6 points on 44.3% shooting from the field, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
