The long-serving MMA veteran and former Bellator lightweight champion had his promotional debut outing scrapped after a brawl erupted ahead of his matchup in Miami, Florida. Pitbull was forced off the card by the company, though his scheduled opponent, Shahzaib Rind, was handed a new fight, which didn't sit well with the Brazilian.
However, Karate Combat believed Rind wasn't at fault for the incident and instead blamed the seasoned 40-year-old. The organization claimed Rind was inside the fighter hotel during the brawl, but Pitbull believes Karate Combat is covering for their champion, stating:
"They started throwing water at us during breakfast," Patricky Pitbull said. "It was me, Patricio, and our wives. Patricio asked them to stop, he said we were with our family, and they kept going. I stood up and threw a bottle of water at them. They ran off and I chased them. When we got outside, a brawl broke out, and I was the one who got hurt."
Patricky Pitbull accused Shahzaib Rind of orchestrating the attack and shared their proof.
Pitbull pointed the finger at Rind, insisting he knew what was going to occur, stating that 'King Khan' began filming before any of the altercation unfolded.
"They came throwing water and there were already people recording," Pitbull continued. "It was all set up."
In a follow-up post on social media, both Patricky and UFC ace Patricio Pitbull furthered their discontent with Karate Combat. In hopes of releasing the true sequence of events, the pair shared their version of the public clash.
"Guys, this promotion never had as many views as they're having now," the Pitbull brothers said in response to the brawl and subsequent fight cancellation on social media. "And purposefully, they hid some footage. And we decided to show them to you."
