Plaquemine baseball drops three games final weekend of season

The Plaquemine Green Devils are waiting to see what route they will take in the playoffs after the regular season ended with three consecutive losses.

PHS wrapped regular season play Saturday in a 5-3 non-district loss to Central Lafourche, which followed two tough losses for the Green Devils.

Plaquemine closed the book on the District 6-4A after a 13-3 loss at West Feliciana and a 16-1 shortfall at Brusly.

The losses came on the heels of a 15-0 win over a struggling Tara program.

Plaquemine's Jackson Jeansonne, seen here in recent action, had an RBI single for the Green Devils in action against Central Lafourche.

Against Central Lafourche, the Green Devils allowed CLHS five runs in the top of the second before Christian Boudreaux scored on a Jackson Jeansonne single to right field. Boudreaux (1-for-3) reached base on a single to center field.

In a 13-3 loss at West Feliciana, the Green Devils notched one run apiece in the first and second innings before the Saints tied PHS in the bottom of the second.

WFHS blew the lead wide open with six runs in the fourth and another five in the fifth to end the game on a 10-run rule.

West Feliciana tacked 10 hits and held the Green Devils to two.

Boudreaux and Reese LaPrairie scored the runs for PHS,The situation was not better at Brusly, where the Green Devils opened with a 1-0 lead before yielding the Panthers 12 runs in the bottom of the first en route to a 16-1 BHS victory.

The Panthers tacked two more runs in the second and another two in the third to end the game on a 15-run rule.

Brusly held Plaquemine to two hits. PHS had three errors in the loss.

Boudreaux scored the lone Green Devil run in the top of the first.
