Monroe Freeling, a popular NFL mock draft pick to the Detroit Lions out of Georgia, says he's open to playing anywhere as he readies for his jump to the NFL.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive tackle joined Kay Adams on "Up & Adams" on Monday. Freeling started 18 games for Georgia at left tackle over the past two seasons, earning second-team All-SEC recognition in 2025.
Adams asked how he felt about some teams viewing him as a right tackle in the NFL.
"I'll play anywhere. I'll be a jack of all trades. You put me at right, I'll learn right. You put me at left, I'll learn left. You put me at center, I'll play center. Wherever you need me to be, I'm gonna be. I'm a football player at the end of the day. Especially playing offensive line, you have to know how to play all positions just to play one.
"So, I mean, as for whatever team drafts me, put me at right, put me at left, I'm up for whatever. I've had experience at both actually. I was a swing tackle my sophomore year, so I got some ample experience in game. Probably like 300 snaps maybe, but that's about four games, so that's enough," Freeling said.
If the Lions are intent on moving three-time first-team All-Pro Penei Sewell to left tackle, then Freeling's willingness to accept a potential long-term role at right tackle could be a meaningful development for the Lions' front office.
This could be something to monitor.
