Zan Vipotnik says his target is to play in the Premier League "one day" - and he believes a Championship play-off place should be Swansea City's aim next season.
Vipotnik is on course to win the golden boot award in the second tier this season having scored 21 goals in 40 league appearances.
Vitor Matos says Vipotnik's form has led to interest from rival clubs, though Swansea's head coach stressed there has been no approach as yet for the Slovenia striker.
Vipotnik, who signed a new Swansea deal in March, says he is enjoying life in Wales but added that he wants to play in the top flight.
"That's my goal," the 24-year-old said. "I would like to play one day in the Premier League, [whether that is] with Swansea or with another club, God will decide."
The contract agreed last month means Vipotnik is tied to Swansea until 2030.
Even so, Swansea may consider selling the former Bordeaux player in the next transfer window should a hefty bid arrive.

Speaking to BBC Sport Wales this week, Vipotnik said he was pleased to recommit to Swansea.
"The club recognised my work and also I recognised the project," he said.
"I am happy here, my family is happy here, I like the club, I like the staff, so it was not a tough decision."
Asked about the possibility of transfer speculation Vipotnik added: "I am happy here but we will see in the summer what will happen. But I am happy here, my family is happy."
Swansea, who are 14th, are on course for a fifth successive mid-table finish in the Championship as they prepare to host in-form Southampton on Saturday (15:00 BST).
With new rules meaning the play-offs will involve clubs finishing from third to eighth in the division next season, Vipotnik says they must be on Swansea's agenda.
"Long-term we speak about the Premier League – I have been here two years," he said.
"But we need to set good goals at the start of next season that we can achieve. We cannot put the standards too high. Play-offs next season is a fair goal."
