

Covington defeated Catholic Central 23-1 in the softball tournament opener, led by Jayda McClure's two home runs. Covington improves to 20-5 and will play Jackson Center next on May 13.
Jayda McClure drove a pair of home runs to lead Covington in a 23-1 win against Catholic Central in the opening round of the softball tournament on Monday, May 11.
McClure finished 4-for-4 with four runs scored and five RBI. Ava Hartwig and Cassidy Iddings each added three-hit days with three RBI apiece.
The win moves Covington to 20-5 overall and the Lady Buccs will face Jackson Center next on Wednesday, May 13.
There were just three games in the area to start tournament play on Monday. In other Division VII tournament action Bradford beat Mississinawa Valley 12-7 and Fort Loramie eliminated Triad 11-0.
Fort Loramie will face Southeastern on Wednesday, May 13 and Bradford will face Cedarville on Wednesday, May 13.
Baseball
Centerville 17, Versailles 2: Ryan Muchmore tripled and drove in four runs and Lucas Clark picked up the win to help Centerville extend its win streak to 18 games. The Elks improved to 20-2 overall and will face a loaded week, hosting Miami Valley League champion Troy on Wednesday, May 13, before heading off to Great American Ballpark to play against Greater Catholic League Co-Ed champs Badin on Saturday, May 16.
Lakota East 16, Middletown 1: Connor Magato and Ben Kuemmel each had run-scoring extra-base hits in an eight run second inning for Lakota East.
Fairfield 7, Sycamore 6: Justin Hembree tallied three hits, including a home run, and Alex Brehm struck out 10 over six innings to earn his third win of the season for Fairfield.
Lakota West 8, Princeton 4: Noah Bramble went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBI as well as throwing a complete game to lead Lakota West.
Troy 9, West Carrollton 3: With the win Troy wrapped up the MVL Miami title outright, finishing league play with a 17-1 record, improving to 20-1 overall.
Butler 17, Stebbins 0: Jack Egbert finished 3-for-3 with a two-run dinger and Carson Perry and Logan Smith combined on the shutout to help Butler improve to 19-3 overall.
Tippecanoe 12, Northmont 11: Tippecanoe trailed 10-2 entering the fifth inning but rallied with 10 runs over the next three innings to earn the win. Noah Fox, Carson Jackson, Brady Liskey and Cayden McKinney each had multiple hits to spur the rally.
Tecumseh 6, Chaminade Julienne 3: Brandon Radford tallied 11 strikeouts in a complete game for Tecumseh.
Badin 7, Moeller 2: Derek Ogden put Badin on the board with a RBI-double, Caleb Driessen pitched a complete game and Badin won a 14th straight game and improved to 18-3 overall.
Fenwick 10, Middletown Madison 3: Jude McCullough doubled twice, driving in three runs while Ty Miller had a double with three RBI to lead Fenwick in a senior night win. Brandon Ashley homered in the loss for Madison.
Carroll 7, Legacy Christian 0: Aaron McGlothen started and struck out nine, combining with Gary Mills III on the shutout for Carroll.
Covington won the game against Catholic Central with a score of 23-1.
Jayda McClure led Covington with two home runs, finishing 4-for-4 with five RBI.
Covington will face Jackson Center on Wednesday, May 13.
Bradford beat Mississinawa Valley 12-7, and Fort Loramie eliminated Triad 11-0.
