
The Hoosier North Athletic Conference track and field meet was held Tuesday night at Culver.
Triton won the girls meet with 123.5 points, followed by Pioneer (109), Winamac (99), Caston (76.5), North Miami (74), Culver (57), North Judson (50), Argos (26) and Oregon-Davis (6).
Pioneer senior Aspen Moolenaar was a quadruple winner on the night, winning the 100 hurdles (16.75 seconds), 300 hurdles (49.62), long jump (15 feet, 9.5 inches) and pole vault (9-6).
Pioneer sophomore Emilee Juby won the discus (104-8.5).
Winamac junior Sadie Popejoy swept the sprint events, winning the 100 (13.33), 200 (27.8) and 400 (1:03.7). Winamac senior Avery Wegner swept the distance events, winning the 800 (2:41.10), 1600 (6:02.34) and 3200 (13.29.48).
Caston’s Autumn Sanders, Hannah Rogers, Grace Colvin and Camila Hernandez-Rios won the 4x400 relay (4:31.56).
Triton won the boys meet with 135 points, followed by Winamac (120), North Judson (102), Caston (81), Pioneer (69), North Miami (60), Culver (33) and Argos (5).
Pioneer junior Dane Bowditch was the champion in the 800 (2:08.37).
Winamac senior Nathan Pierzchalski won the 1600 (4:43.81) and 3200 (11:10.61), and senior Charles Disinger swept the discus (133-2) and shot put (48-0.25).
The Warriors 4x800 relay team of Hector Gallegos, Paxton Moon, Logan Fredel and Pierzchalski won in 8:47.74.
SOFTBALL
LOGANSPORT 16, HAMILTON HEIGHTS 3
Class 3A No. 1 Logansport (17-1, 5-0 HC East) secured a spot in Friday’s Hoosier Conference title game with a win at Hamilton Heights.
Adrienne Scott went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Berries. Tatianna Jones and Evie Kitchel had three hits apiece. Bella Nicoles had a double, single and RBI. Kate Spradling had two hits and two RBIs. Brooklynn Hagerty had a home run and three RBIs. Aracyn Good had a double and two runs scored. Gracie Risley added a single and RBI.
Hagerty pitched all seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out 10.
WINAMAC 11, CASTON 0
Class 2A No. 7 Winamac (15-2, 4-0 HNAC) recorded a win in seven innings at Caston (9-6, 2-2).
Maggie Keller went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Warriors. Adrianna Hall had a home run, single and three RBIs. Makayla Werner had a home run and two RBIs. Brooke Rausch had a double, single and two RBIs. Brody Goodman had a double and Grace Roth added a single and two runs scored.
Hall fired a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts.
The Warriors led 1-0 before they struck for four in the third, four more in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Kylee Logan went 2-for-3 to lead the Comets. Lexie Field added a single.
Hadlie Coffing pitched all seven innings, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits and five walks, striking out six.
BASEBALL
CASS 10, RENSSELAER 0
Owen Cotner-Graves fired a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts as Cass (8-8) defeated visiting Rensselaer in five innings.
Carson Rowe went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Cass. Kaison Hipsher-Walker had a double, single and two RBIs. Andy Emmons hit a home run. Julian Davidson, Gavin Smith and Tyler Foley each added a hit.
WABASH 6, LOGANSPORT 5
Class 2A No. 8 Wabash scored a run in the top of the sixth to get past Logansport (12-8).
Grady Alexander had a home run, double and two RBIs for the Berries. Bryson Herr hit a home run. Kuper Jones and Blake Pearson both hit a triple. Hudson Shank and Easton Sweet each hit a double. Braylon Ritchie added a single and RBI.
Ritchie pitched six innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out six. Lucas Jones tossed a scoreless inning of relief.
BOYS GOLF
PIONEER 171, TRI-COUNTY 177, WINAMAC 195
Pioneer celebrated senior night with wins at Pond View.
Ivan Reyes and Micah Rans shared top honors by each shooting 39 for Pioneer. Brady Price had a 44, Cole Franklin 49 and Noah Van Meter 50.
DEMOTTE CHRISTIAN 178, KNOX 180, CASTON 197
The Comets were led by Owen Chapman with a 47 at Chesapeake Run.
Reed Sommers and Brody Brewer both carded 49s. Drew Williams had a 50 and Jace Rentschler shot a 51.
