PREVIEW: Rangers travel to Hearts with title hopes hanging in the balance
Hearts will host Rangers tomorrow afternoon in a potentially title-deciding clash at Tynecastle. The Jam Tarts currently sit top of the table, four points ahead of tomorrowâs opponents and level on points with Celtic following their win over Hibernian this afternoon.
Rangers will likely feel as though they have to be perfect from here on out if they are to lift a historic 56th Scottish Premiership title come the end of the seasonâŠand even a 100% record for the remainder of the season may not be enough due to the points difference. You certainly get the sense that these next two fixtures, Hearts and Celtic away, will define their season.
Hearts, meanwhile, will be a fingertip away from the title if they win tomorrow at a sold-out Tynecastle. That result would see them move seven points clear of Rangers and three clear of Celtic with just nine points left to play for. Derek McInnesâ side have led from the front for the majority of the season, and will now need to keep their cool in the next four games to finish the job.
The Hearts has manager issued somewhat of a rally to the fans ahead of tomorrowâs clash. âWe just want Tynecastle to be in its full glory, to be honest. We want it to be even better than itâs been. To the supporters, bring your scarves, show your colours, give it laldy. Letâs go and make it a proper night. Weâll be determined to get the right result.â
Meanwhile, Danny Röhl has insisted that his side âstill believeâ they can go on and win the league this season following a disappointing loss at home to Motherwell last weekend. These two sides have already met three times this season, with Hearts winning the first two and Rangers claiming the third back in February thanks to a hat-trick from Youssef Chermiti at Ibrox, one of the greatest days of Röhlâs tenure so far.
Tomorrowâs game will take place at 5:30pm (UK time).
