Mentioned in this story
Wonderful Monds IV is Florida State's top quarterback target in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and it is time for him to make his commitment.
The Seminoles are one of his three finalists and are competing with the Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the Vero Beach, Florida native. Monds was originally one of the top players in the 2028 recruiting cycle, but reclassified and is now one of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the country.
While he was limited as a sophomore due to injury, he had an excellent freshman season at Vero Beach High School. He completed 67.5% of his passes for 2,234 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions to go with 502 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. In five games as a sophomore, he threw for 691 yards, seven touchdowns, and no interceptions, completing 71.4% of his passes.
His production as a freshman caused teams across the country to take notice, with over 30 programs extending him scholarship offers. Due to his reclassification and injury, he has not played much at the high school level, but his talent is easy to see, and he has the potential to be a difference-maker wherever he goes.
Here’s everything you need to know about his recruitment before he makes commitment, including a prediction about where he will go.
Monds is scheduled to make his commitment on Friday, May 1, live on the Pat McAfee show at 1:05 p.m. ET.
The Seminoles extended Monds a scholarship offer on June 12, 2024, when he was just a freshman. They have been a key player in his recruitment ever since, hosting him on several visits. FSU signed two of his teammates last year in Efrem White and Jordan Crutchfield.

My Pick: Notre Dame
While Monds has three finalists, this looks like a two-team battle between FSU and Notre Dame, with the Fighting Irish having the momentum. Ohio State already has a quarterback committed, and Monds' most recent visit was to Notre Dame, with them receiving several predictions to land him. FSU has proximity and has been recruiting him the longest, but it looks to be coming up just short.
