Chris Fileppo started off his college football career with West Virginia of the Big 12. Following Penn State's hiring of Matt Campbell from Iowa State, the Pennsylvania native has returned to the state to continue his college football career with the Nittany Lions as one of the many transfer portal additions this offseason.
Fileppo appeared in all 12 of West Virginia's games last season as a true freshman. During that time, he compiled 12 tackles and one tackle for loss. Most notably, he had a career-high 5 tackles against Texas Tech.

Fileppo has undergone a conversion from nickel safety with the Mountaineers to now being in a highly competitive linebacking corps for the Nittany Lions. While he has some more experience than several underclassmen, he will still most likely slot in as the third member of the Mike linebacker rotation with Tony Rojas and Caleb Bacon leading the charge.
Fileppo's high school coach, Brett Gordon, is well-renowned in Pennsylvania football circles, as he was a star quarterback for the Villanova Wildcats.
