From all of the returning players, a long list of new faces from the transfer portal, and incoming recruits from the Class of 2026, we will have you covered with this year's player profiles for the Penn State roster. Here is a quick look at tight end Brian Kortovich for the 2026 season.
Class of 2025: Consensus 3-star, No. 27 ranked tight end, per 247sports
Brian Kortovich initially committed to Purdue in the summer of 2024, but he was offered after a trip over to Penn State that winter and quickly decommitted from the Boilermakers and committed to the Nittany Lions.
Although the redshirt freshman didn’t record any stats last year, he recorded 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his senior season of high school.
With an almost entirely new tight end room, Kortovich will have a good chance of earning a significant role in the offense. There isn’t much certainty at the position this year, which could bode well for his chances of making an impact on the team.
Kortovich has two uncles who played college football, one at Ohio State and the other at Miami Ohio.
