Furmanek was unranked by any major recruiting service throughout his high school career, but the Penn State coaching staff saw enough from the local prospect to bring him aboard.

It will be difficult for Furmanek to get on the field on offense this season, but he is tracking to be a key special teams contributor once again. He appeared in every game last season in that capacity and should be able to make an impact there once again.
Furmanekās cousin, Alex Furmanek, played football at Penn State from 2019 to 2022.
