Cayden Boozer (Guard) - Often overlooked due to the play of his twin brother, Cameron, this past season, Boozer returns after a strong freshman season that ended with one disastrous mistake. He avereaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor. With a year under his belt, he should be even better.
John Blackwell (Guard) - The addition of Blackwell means that either Boozer or Caleb Foster, who is returning for his senior season, will have to come off the bench. I think it will be Foster, who is the ultimate teammate and will fill any role Scheyer asks. In Blackwell, the Blue Devils are getting a massive scoring threat.
Dame Sarr (Forward) - As a freshman, he had his moments, averaging 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, but those numbers will continue to rise in his second season. At 6-foot-8, he’s still a little underweight, but another offseason in the weight room will do wonders for him.
Drew Scharnowski (Forward) - There might be some time for true freshman Cameron Williams here, as the 5-star is talented enough to fill in the role left vacant by Cameron Boozer. Still, Scharnowski brings experience that is hard to teach, and that should be enough for him to win the starting job, at least to start the season.
Patrick Ngongba (Center) - One of the biggest surprises is the return of Ngongba, who would have likely been selected in the NBA draft this year. While his numbers don’t stand out (10.1 points, 5.8 rebounds per game), it is his presence inside that makes a massive difference for the Blue Devils.
