Texas A&M's 2026 offseason has officially begun with the conclusion of the spring season, and during the annual Maroon & White Game, third-year head coach Mike Elko and his staff were provided a final scrimmage for evaluation before the fall, and are well aware that the revamped roster is still a work in progress.
While the return of starting quarterback Marcel Reed will continue to garner a bulk of the national attention the Aggies receive this summer, Alabama transfer senior wide receiver Isaiah Horton has already looked like an instant impact player, providing size, speed, and experience as an X receiver, and should replace the lost production of WR KC Concepcion, who was one of a record 10 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Losing 10 starters and key reserves to the NFL was expected from Elko, who predicted the historic weekend this time last year, and prepared for the departures as soon as the offseason began, especially on the defense. After losing unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell, the addition of Northwestern transfer Anto Saka has already looked like the perfect pass rush partner for ascending sophomore Marco Jones.
Still, replacing four starters along the offensive line seems like a daunting task on paper, but after landing four proven SEC starters, combined with several former blue-chip prospects, Texas A&M's depth in the trenches should be able to weather most storms.
Less than four months away from the 2026 season-opener vs. Missouri State, here is part one of the post-spring depth chart prediction, starting with Texas A&M's offense.
The bottom line, Texas A&M is in much better hands at the most important position with Marcel Reed returning for his second full season as the starter after throwing for a career-high 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns last season.
Feeling that sophomore Brady Hart, who served as the third-string option last season, has improved enough this spring, while looking impressive during his spring game snaps that included several memorable throws to Isaiah Horton and sophomore WR Ashton Bethel-Roman.

This is a massive year for senior Rueben Owens, who rushed for a career high 639 yards and five touchdowns last season, while his past injury issues prevented the former five-star prospect from reaching his full potential earlier. Behind him, sophomore Jamarion Morrow looks like the best one-cut back after showing off his explosive second-level burst during the spring game.
Depth-wise, redshirt freshman Tiger Riden could take over EJ Smith's 2025 role, while freshmen KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker could see the field early in the year, but are likely a year away from earning extensive snaps barring injury.
As you can see, Isaiah Horton, Mario Craver, and Ashton Bethel-Roman are locks to start at all three starting receiver spots, while freshman Aaron Gregory and redshirt freshman Jerome Myles, who has dealt with sustained injury issues, will battle for the backup X job.
In the slot, Mario Craver's primary backup should be Terry Bussey, who can also play at Z, while the name to watch behind Ashton Bethel-Roman is redshirt freshman TK Norman, who looked much improved during his limited snaps this spring.
Within a tight end room that features a lot of intriguing names, senior Micah Riley and UTSA transfer Houston Thomas look like the clear-cut options to lead the Aggies in snaps, while Riley's background as a reliable in-line blocker helps mend the loss of Nate Boerkircher, who was selected 56th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Riley was named as one of five team captains last month.
Other names to watch include Kiotti Armstrong and Fresno State transfer Richie Anderson, two players who will provide depth but are likely another year away from earning starting spots. However, Armstrong's 6'6" frame and elite athleticism make him a player to watch during the preseason.
Former five-star tackle Lamont Rogers made strides this spring, but with the addition of LSU transfer Tyree Adams, starting experience is key. Rogers could outperform the veteran this fall. The rest of the projected starting line is pretty cut and dry, as all four SEC transfer additions are expected to regain their 2025 roles.
Depth is the keyword with this group, and on most rosters, Tyler Thomas, Ashton Funk, and Blake Ivy would be starters, and will provide third-year OL coach Adam Cushing the ability to rotate at nearly every postion, especially Robert Bourdon, who is versatile enough to play either tackle spot in a pinch.
