£87m Yan Diomande to Liverpool deal takes huge step forward
Liverpool are plotting a significant overhaul of their attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
Last year Richard Hughes acquired a whole new strikeforce - adding Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak as well as a playmaker in Florian Wirtz.
And at the end of what is proving to be a disappointing Premier League title defence the club are now eyeing up big changes on the wings.
Mohamed Salah is a confirmed departure while Federico Chiesa is also expected to leave. That would open a spot in Arne Slot’s squad for a one-v-one specialist out wide and it’s clear who the frontrunner is going to be.
Yan Diomande - the RB Leipzig teenager - has enjoyed a stunning rise since moving to the Bundesliga from Leganes in Spain last summer.
The Ivorian, 19, inked a deal until 2030 and Red Bull got their man for a snip at only £18m.
Diomande - who can play either side of the attack - is quickly outgrowing his confines in German football and in his career following the FIFA World Cup.
The transfer deal for Yan Diomande to Liverpool is advancing significantly as the club prepares for a major squad overhaul.
Liverpool is aiming to revamp their attacking options due to a disappointing Premier League title defense this season.
Recently, Liverpool added Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz to their squad as part of their attacking strategy.

According to a report in TEAMtalk Diomande is excited about the prospect of moving to Anfield - and personal terms are not expected to be a sticking point either.
“A move to Liverpool holds genuine appeal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with personal terms unlikely to derail any potential deal,” the report reads.
“Liverpool view the versatile wide man as an ideal long-term replacement capable of delivering both goals and assists from the flank.
“Liverpool, for their part, remain confident that personal negotiations would proceed smoothly should they meet the Germans’ valuation.”
Now that Diomande has given his personal approval to the move all that remains is discussing a fee with Leipzig. It’s no secret that Jurgen Klopp’s organisation value Diomande highly and are prepared to seek up to €10om for his sale.
