Quentin Grimes emphasizes the Philadelphia 76ers' need to focus on defending the Boston Celtics' three-point shooting in Game 3. He acknowledges the Celtics' poor shooting performance in Game 2 and anticipates adjustments from their opponents.
Ahead of Game 3 vs. the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers reserve guard Quentin Grimes is under no illusions about the sort of ball club the Sixers will face at home later today (April 24). "We know (we need to) watch the film, we know they didn't play as well as they usually played all season," explained the Philly backup sharpshooter.
"Guys didn't make shots," he continued, alluding to the Celtics connecting on just 13 of their 50 attempts from beyond the arc while shooting an uncharacteristic 39 percent from the floor overall. "We also played well ourselves, so you've got to be conscious and know that they're going to make adjustments, and we have to maybe be ready for those counters as well."
"So (we're) just coming in with the right mindset, we had a good game plan, good film session yesterday," he suggested. "And I felt like we'll do we had a pretty good job tonight."
Quentin Grimes highlighted that the Celtics' three-point shooting is crucial to their game and that the 76ers must run them off the line.
The Celtics struggled in Game 2, making only 13 of their 50 three-point attempts and shooting 39 percent overall.
Game 3 is critical as it allows the 76ers to adjust their defense against the Celtics' three-point shooting, which is a key aspect of Boston's offensive strategy.
