As a rookie, Ewers completed 66.3% of his passes for 622 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions, while leading Miami to a 1-2 record as the teamâs starter after Tagovailoa was benched for his poor play. Was Ewersâ play perfect? Absolutely not. He made some poor throws from time to time, and if youâre expecting Tua Tagovailoaâs accuracy, that type of quarterback probably isnât going to be walking through the door again for a long, long time. (Note: I wrote this before Willis signed, but the point still stands) That said, Ewers showed a confidence that canât be taught in his limited snaps in 2025. And despite not having that #elite accuracy, it certainly shows up from time to time â most noteworthy being that DIME to Greg Dulcich in the middle of the endzone. He also has the ability to put some torque on his throws, hitting inbreakers and out routes with what appears to be the flick of a wrist. There are times when he looks like heâs going to be sacked or the play is dead, but he is able to get rid of the ball in a way that Tua simply could not. Most importantly, however, the moment never looked too big for Ewers. Maybe thatâs to be expected, considering he kept Arch Manning on the sideline during his time at Texas, while winning some big games in the process. He wasnât perfect â not in college or during his NFL debut â but he certainly wasnât terrible. And uncoachable is a word that doesnât even belong in the same stratosphere as Ewers (His father was a coach). Ewers also proved he could start with very little notice. No, seriously, the man didnât even take any first-team reps before he marched out on the field for his first NFL action â and it never seemed to faze him. That, IMO, is worth investing in, and with so many teams looking for every advantage at the QB position, giving Ewers a chance to compete for that backup spot. In the end, the Dolphins found their veteran QB and will hope to find a gem in the draft to develop. I personally like Drew Allar â I always have â but unfortunately, heâs more of an unknown than even Ewers. And with such an appealing crop of QBs in 2027, that may be the year to land the QB of the future. Letâs ride with Willis, Ewers, and Miller â unless the perfect prospect falls into Sullyâs lap. *What are your thoughts on Quinn Ewersâ rookie season?
