The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach, Klint Kubiak, and a lot of new players.
They're undergoing a bit of a youth movement, beginning with No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza but going well beyond him.
And that, in part, leads to a parting of ways with some of the old guard.
One of those players is Charles Snowden, who has started 18 games for the Raiders across the past two seasons.
Vegas announced on Monday that Snowden has been waived.

Snowden had played the most for the Raiders, and in his 31 overall games with Las Vegas, he had 67 tackles, including 4.5 sacks.
The Raiders cut these four players so they could sign four new guys. They held their rookie minicamp over the weekend, so it was a chance to sign four players who didn't already have contracts following the 2026 NFL Draft.
The new additions include a pair of offensive tackles: Niklas Henning and Kamar Missouri. There are also safety Devyn Perkins and tight end Patrick Gurd.
A lot of these players might turn out to be insignificant in the end. Teams can carry 90 players at this point in the offseason, and the roster eventually gets trimmed to 53, plus the practice squad of 16 players.
Still, it felt at least a little notable that the Raiders cut Snowden. He definitely could get a new contract with another team.
