The Rams are projected to draft Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams in Dane Brugler's 2027 mock draft. Coleman-Williams, known for his electric play, had a strong freshman season but needs to improve his concentration.
Rams fans were clamoring for Los Angeles to draft a wide receiver in the first round this year. Instead, they took Ty Simpson, addressing a future need at quarterback.
Assuming the Rams donât add a long-term solution at wide receiver with a trade this offseason, theyâll be in the market for one in next yearâs draft. The Athleticâs Dane Brugler has the Rams addressing that position in his first 2027 mock draft, giving them Simpsonâs former teammate at Alabama, Ryan Coleman-Williams.
Coleman-Williams is an electric receiver who had a huge impact on the Crimson Tide as a true freshman in 2024 before taking a slight step back last season. But his ceiling is still extremely high as a prospect.
Coleman-Williams has electric ability that will get him into the first round if he shows improved concentration to be a better finisher at the catch point.
As a freshman two years ago, Coleman-Williams averaged 18 yards per catch and scored eight touchdowns. He had 865 yards on just 48 catches in 2024 but he had just 689 yards and four touchdowns on 49 catches last year.
His hands are his biggest question mark, as is his smaller frame, which limits him physically in contested catch situations. But if he can get better in those two areas, heâll be a surefire first-rounder next April.
With the Rams needing wide receiver help in 2027, Coleman-Williams would be a great fit. Heâs someone who can take the top off the defense and stretch the field vertically, an element the Rams have lacked since Brandin Cooks was there.
