The Los Angeles Rams are considered a top potential landing spot for four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The team is looking to strengthen their wide receiver depth after a late draft pick.
There’s been some grumbling among Los Angeles Rams fans after the team didn’t address wide receiver until the sixth round of the draft. Though the Rams are in great shape with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams atop the depth chart, there’s not a lot of proven talent behind them.
The good news is there’s still time to find a true WR3 for this season, whether it’s before Week 1 or ahead of the trade deadline.
Might Stefon Diggs be of interest to the Rams after he was found not guilty of assault and strangulation of his former chef? USA TODAY’s Nate Davis highlighted six teams that make the most sense as landing spots for Diggs, and the Rams were one of them.
Here’s what Davis wrote about the idea of Diggs signing with the Rams as a free agent.
They’ve got a similar amount of cash in their free agent slush fund as the Colts – though the sooner LA extends Puka Nacua, the less he’ll cost the Rams in the long run. After a tough year in Houston in 2024, Diggs bounced back last season with the Patriots, posting his seventh career 1,000-yard season. He caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns, playing all 17 games in the regular season and four in the playoffs.
At 32 years old, he’s on the wrong side of 30, but he showed last season that he can still be productive when healthy, which he has been for most of his career. A precise route runner with good agility, he’d be a nice addition to the receiving corps with his ability to play outside and in the slot.
