McGinnis was the Rams' assistant head coach from 2012-2016, remaining on the staff when they moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles. That transition and subsequent success from the team is a defining part of Demoff's tenure as team president. Not only did McGinnis assist the transition, but his work in player development helped launch the careers of Aaron Donald and Todd Gurley, two players who defined the Rams during their return to Southern California.
