The Los Angeles Rams have signed undrafted free agent tight end Dan Villari, who converted from quarterback and ran for 445 yards in college. This move adds depth to their tight end roster, which already includes four established players.

The Los Angeles Rams had one of the stranger 2026 NFL Drafts across the entire NFL. While their picks down the board weren't anything overly note-worthy, their first two picks were surprises.
The Ty Simpson pick in Round 1 was a stunner, but the Max Klare selection in Round 2 is worth noting. They already had four solid TEs on the roster in Colby Parkinson, Terrace Ferguson, Tyler Higbee, and Davis Allen before taking Klare.
But the Ohio State TE isn't the only TE the Rams are adding from the prospect pool this year. As Syracuse Football announced on Twitter/x, the Rams have also signed undrafted free agent Dan Villari, a TE who has run for 445 yards in his career.
"Landed in LA @Dan2Villari. @RamsNFL," Syracuse Football shared on Twitter/x Saturday night.
Villari is a fun addition to the Rams' offense. While he might not find the field right away, he's an intriguing depth addition who could be a long-term third option in the Rams offense once Higbee, Allen, and/or Parkinson are gone.

The headline with Villari is his previous experience as a quarterback, which saw him complete 69.7% of his passes in 2023 for 177 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions on 33 attempts with Syracuse.
During his heyday as a QB, and even a bit into his later years as a tight end on gadget plays, Villari ran for a total of 445 yards and four touchdowns on 93 attempts in his college football career.
As a receiver, Villari caught 66 passes for 671 yards and three touchdowns (all in 2023, the same year as his limited time as a QB).
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end out of Syracuse is an interesting story, and while he might be buried on the Rams TE depth chart, he's someone who could be some fun during the preseason or down the road.
