The NFL Draft is over, but the Los Angeles Rams may still make trades to enhance their Super Bowl chances. Speculation suggests they could trade their 2027 first-round pick for the right player.
The NFL Draft is over, but there are still plenty of ways for teams to improve either through free agency or trades, and apparently there is some speculation (by some) that the Los Angeles Rams are expected to make a trade as they look to win the Super Bowl.
With 2027 expected to be such a deep draft, itâs hard to see L.A giving up their first-round pick, but theyâve been aggressive in the past, so who knows? This team can be full of surprises. That being said, a trade is totally possible whether itâs soon for the right player, or later if/when teams are looking to sell as their current season doesnât go their way. If the Rams really believe they can win it all by giving up a 2027 first, then I would guess theyâll do it.
Itâs all possible.
Itâs May, so I am not sure there is too much NFL news to get excited about right now, but itâll pick up, and you never know when something news worthy will happen. Pay attention, or let Turf Show Times handle keeping you updated!
Whatever works.
Big thank you to everyone for checking out Turf Show Times! Let the work week commence.
âIf thereâs one thing football fans have learned about Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead, itâs that heâs not afraid to make a big move. The latest evidence came on the first night of the 2026 NFL Draft, when the Rams surprised everyone by taking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick in the first round.
Simpson was projected to be a Day 2 draft pick, but as they say, all it takes is one team to believe in his abilities. This year, that was the Rams.â
âThe NFL Referees Association ratified a new 7-year collective bargaining agreement Friday with the NFL, concluding a multiyear negotiation and eliminating the possibility of a work stoppage prior to the 2026 season.
Full details of the agreement were not immediately available, but the NFL tied the negotiations into several initiatives for improving officiating and, according to sources, the league will get increased access to officials in the offseason for a formal training program during minicamps, training camps and joint practices. The NFL will also develop a bench of officials and will have greater latitude to use performance metrics for postseason assignments rather than seniority.â
âOn Monday, they will be in the same meeting room and on the field together for the first time as the Rams continue their voluntary offseason workout program in Woodland Hills.
âSo excited to be here, not only in a great city like Los Angeles, but a great organization like the Rams,â Simpson said in an interview after greeting and presenting medals to runners and walkers who completed a 5K. âThereâs great people and great friends in the rookie class, just excited to get started.â
âThe rams led the NFL in scoring by over 2 pts last year. We did this despite pretty terrible special teams contributions.
In 2026âŠthe rams bring back every player from the offensive depth except Havenstein & JimmyG. They added Trost & Simpson to replace the lost depth and then added Klare to the TE group and Daniels to the WR group.
I understand the depth/injury concerns at WR and OL and I certainly understand that anything can happen in the nfl but I certainly think the offensive roster is stronger and deeper entering 26 than it was last yearâŠand I say that having just pointed out last years results.
Now consider the CBâs we signed and how they might help the defense get off the field quicker and return the ball to the offense in better field positionâŠetc etc etc
Thereâs no guarantees in the nfl but I really like the position weâve put ourselves in so farâŠand just like everyone else hereâŠI still want us to improve it if/when possible.â -JustAFleshWound
The Rams are speculated to be considering trades to improve their roster, potentially including their 2027 first-round pick.
The Rams may trade their 2027 first-round pick if they believe it will significantly enhance their chances of winning the Super Bowl.
While it's currently May and NFL news is slow, trade news could pick up as teams reassess their seasons and make moves.
The Rams have been aggressive in trades historically, making unexpected moves to bolster their team.
