The Texas Rangers were quite a busy team over the winter break. They were involved in a few big trades that were going to shake up the roster.
They parted ways with Marcus Semien, sending him to the New York Mets for Brandon Nimmo. They also traded five prospects to the Washington Nationals in exchange for MacKenzie Gore.
Both of those trades have paid off so far as Gore holds a 2-1 record with a 3.00 ERA, and Nimmo leads the team in batting average.

While the trades are paying off, some players are struggling to start the year. Wyatt Langford, Josh Smith, and haven't really been able to get it going offensively.
The Texas Rangers traded Marcus Semien to the New York Mets for Brandon Nimmo and sent five prospects to the Washington Nationals for MacKenzie Gore.
MacKenzie Gore has a 2-1 record with a 3.00 ERA since joining the Texas Rangers.

This has led to a bit of a shaky start, where the team is still looking to find consistency with the bats. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller gives them an early-season grade they can surely improve on if a few players can turn it around offensively.

Say this much for the Rangers. They appear to have committed highway robbery with that swap of Marcus Semien for Brandon Nimmo, the latter their best offensive weapon of the year to date. The trade for MacKenzie Gore has also panned out nicely so far. But when are the returnees like Wyatt Langford, Josh Smith and Josh Jung going to snap out of their season-opening funks?"
The Rangers will need these three to figure it out and do it fast. The month of April doesn't get much easier with a series against the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Athletics, and then the New York Yankees.
