The veteran forward spurred a rousing comeback Friday with three goals and five points in a 7-5 victory over the Springfield Thunderbirds on Fan Appreciation Night.
The Wolf Pack scored five unanswered goals in the third period, capped by Fix-Wolanskyâs empty-netter that sealed his second hat trick of the season. Earlier in the period, Fix-Wolansky set up Casey Fitzgeraldâs goal which tied the score 5-5 at 7:43. Eight minutes later, he picked up a secondary assists on Carey Terranceâs goal, which proved to be the game-winner.
âJust wanted to give the crowd something to cheer about, and go off with a bang,â Fix-Wolansky said postgame.
The 26-year-old reached and passed 30 goals on the season, becoming the first Hartford player to do so since Nicklas Jensen in 2016-17. His 31 goals are a career high, besting the 29 he scored with Cleveland of the AHL in the 2022-23 season.
âIâd be lying if I said I wasnât thinking about it coming into today, so to be able to hit that in one game and get 31 is pretty special, first time in my career,â he said of reaching the 30-goal milestone.
Fix-Wolansky leads the Wolf Pack in both goals and points (53). The scrappy forward, who stands 5-foot-6, also has a team-high 121 penalty minutes. He is to score 30 goals in the AHL this season. The current league-leader is who has 40 goals with Belleville.
