He recorded a total of 23 tackles, including 9 solo tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss (TFL), and a team-high 9.0 sacks, along with one interception. His average of 0.69 sacks per game ranked him 19th nationally and fourth in the SEC. According to Pro Football Focus, he was the 34th-ranked pass rusher in the nation with a grade of 80.9, and He ranked 13th nationally among all edge players in Pass Rush Productivity (PRP) with a score of 10.5, which is calculated using a formula that combines sacks, hits, and hurries relative to the number of times he rushes the passer. Aaron Glenn's team chose Texas Tech pass rusher David Bailey over Arvell Reese at No. 2 in the first of their three first-rounders. The Jets doubled back and landed Kenyon Sadiq (16), who is the best tight end in the draft. The Jets then traded up to get WR Omar Cooper Jr. (30), giving QB Geno Smith another playmaker alongside Garrett Wilson. Indiana CB D'Angelo Ponds (50) is gritty and similar to coach Aaron Glenn. Florida State DL Darrell Jackson Jr. (103) and OL Anez Cooper (188) strengthen the trenches. The Jets took a chance on QB Cade Klubnik (110) in the fourth round.
