"I want to be here for the rest of my career, I don't ever want to leave," Barrett told reporters. "I don't have any problems openly saying that."
Will that happen?
"That's out of my control," Barrett said. "I have done my part on the court this year, and I hope things work out that way."
Barrett hasn't always been a universally-respected player, but he had the second-most efficient shooting season of his career in 2025-26, and he rebounded and passed well, too. He's certainly a positive player, and if he and the Raptors have the same price point in mind, it seems like an extension could eventually be worked out between Toronto and the local hooper.
