Ravens GM Eric DeCosta explains draft process with new coaches

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said the addition of new coaching voices has strengthened Baltimore's predraft evaluation process this spring, pointing to the mix of college and NFL backgrounds now feeding into the team's draft board.

DeCosta noted that the variety of perspectives has created more discussion around players and traits, ultimately giving the organization more ways to evaluate talent as the draft approaches.

"I think it's great. I think it's been a learning experience. I think we've been able to get ... We have a lot of young coaches, college coaches that are coming in with a different perspective on things and also coaches from other teams [coming in with] different ways of scouting. There's many, many different ways to build a draft board, and I think having coaches, a lot of different guys come in with different perspectives on things, and in some cases, valuing different traits or qualities or different things in players really does create an opportunity for us to improve as a staff."

For Baltimore, the shift reflects a broader collaboration inside the building as the team works through its first draft cycle under a revamped coaching structure.
