Aidan Cremarosa was working out of the bullpen during his freshman and sophomore years at Fresno State. However, he would transition to being a starter during his junior year, and that went extremely well.
He seemingly hit his stride on the mound and became the Mountain West Pitcher of the Year in 2025, leading the conference with 112 strikeouts on 95.1 innings of work.

Cremarosa isn't your typical hard-throwing starting pitcher the league has grown accustomed to. Instead, he sits around 90-91 mph, uses a short-arm motion to catch hitters off-guard, and has an elite changeup as well.
He recently pitched a no-hitter on May 8th for Single-A Charleston against the Augusta Greenjackets. And even though he isn't ranked, the crew over at tags him as the Rays' hottest pitching prospect.

"[He] has been dominant for much of his first pro season with a 2.38 ERA, 49 strikeouts and only five walks in 34 innings to this point. Cremarosa isn't a huge velocity guy with a fastball around 90-91 mph but works with a deep mix and a short arm action that adds some deception."
He also holds a 4-0 record on the year so far. It looks like the Rays found yet another hidden gem, something they do better than almost any other team across MLB.
It may not be long until Cremarosa forces his way into the Rays' top prospect rankings. He's pitching far too well not to be ranked somewhere in the top 30.
One thing that could propel him up that list is working on his secondary pitches. His curveball and slider could use some work, and if he can get those pitches down, he's going to force his way to big-league action sooner rather than later.
