RB Leipzig must generate over €100m in player sales
RB Leipzig secured UEFA Champions League qualification following their 2-1 victory over St. Pauli on Matchday 33, but the Saxony club must still generate a substantial figure from player sales this summer.
BILD report that Champions League participation will bring Leipzig around €60m, meaning club bosses still need to bring in around €113m in player sales – a figure significantly lower than the forecasted €200m had they now have secured a return to European competition.
As such, potential departures include: Castello Lukeba, who has a reported €80m release clause, and Arthur Vermeeren (Marseille), Lutsharel Geertruida (Sunderland) and Eljif Elmas (Napoli), all of whom spent 2025/26 out on loan.
With squad planning well under way, Leipzig have already secured the signings of Rocco Reitz and Abdoul Koné from Borussia Mönchengladbach and Reims respectively, while they would like to sign on loan from again, but with an obligation to buy.
