It has been another wretched season for Eder Militao as the Real Madrid defender has succumbed to injury problems.
Having been out of action for several months earlier in the campaign, the Brazilian international suffered another injury last week which has ruled him out of the season as well as the summer’s FIFA World Cup.
Earlier today, the 28-year-old defender underwent surgery to treat the injury and is now expected to be out of action for at least five months, meaning a return could take place in September or October.
Militao staying positive
Following the medical procedure, which took place in Finland, Militao has taken to social media to send a message to the Real Madrid fans.
“Anyone who knows me knows how dedicated I’ve been and how hard I’ve worked to be in peak physical condition, but unfortunately, I have to take care of my body so I can play for Real Madrid and the national team with confidence,” Militao began.
Expressing gratitude for the support and well wishes during this time, he added: “To everyone who sent me messages of love and support, my sincerest thanks.”
Concluding, Militao signed off on a positive note, insisting that he will continue to keep fighting and will come back stronger.
“And also to everyone who stands by my side – my family, my children, my wife @tainamilitao – know that the fight continues, because the best is yet to come,” Militao concluded.
