Real Madrid are gearing up for an important summer ahead, one in which the club will be expected to significantly reinforce the team with new signings.
One of the club’s priorities is to shore up the defensive unit, which currently lacks depth. To that end, Real Madrid have already been linked with a move for quite a few players, including Nico Schlotterbeck, who reportedly has a release clause that can be activated in the summer.
Real Madrid, though, are not averse to looking into the domestic market and that is where Jon Martin comes into the fray.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Jon Martin, the Real Sociedad starlet, fresh from Copa Del Rey glory this weekend.
Aged just 19, Martin is already a first-team regular for Sociedad and has featured in almost 50 competitive matches for the Txuri Urdin.

Martin boasts excellent technical qualities and is brimming with potential, making him an excellent long-term investment for the club.
However, the Spaniard won’t come cheap. He reportedly has a release clause worth €50 million, which is quite standard in European football.
But in a summer where Real Madrid have to spend a lot of money, Martin, given his relative lack of experience, could be expensive.
That said, Real Madrid have preferred building a Spanish core in their defence in recent years, with their existing options including the likes of Dean Huijsen, Fran Garcia, Raul Asencio and Alvaro Carreras.
Martin could be an exciting addition to the list, although for now, Real Madrid are likely to go after more experienced options.
