Real Madrid legend will return to the club but not as a sporting director – report
Real Madrid find themselves in absolute disarray at the moment, both on and off the field.
While the season is set to end without a trophy, rumours of growing tension in the dressing room continue to gain weight with each passing day.
Meanwhile, the search for a new manager to replace Alvaro Arbeloa at the end of the season has been far from straightforward thus far.
Amidst all the chaos, though, Real Madrid are making some progress in their attempt to bring back former midfielder Toni Kroos to the club.
Indeed, talks have been held and the Merengues legend is expected to return to the Bernabeu imminently, but there is still a lack of clarity over his role.
Providing an update, Cadena SER reports that Kroos’ return to Real Madrid is already considered a done deal, with the former German international set to join the sporting structure at the club.
However, the update makes it clear that the club icon’s new role will not be that of a sporting director.

This comes after reports last month had suggested that Los Blancos were considering appointing a sporting director – something the club came out to deny with an official statement.
Now, Kroos’ return will not be as a director, while at the same time he also does not wish to come back in a ceremonial ambassador position.
The idea is that the former midfielder will act in an advisory capacity, giving his opinion and inputs on matters related to football, working closely with the club president, Florentino Perez, and other members of the administration.
Direct talks are taking place between Kroos and the club and many within the club are already taking his return as a guarantee.
It remains to be seen what position the former midfielder and club legend takes up in Real Madrid’s sporting structure, and also whether he gets a say in the appointment of the new manager.
The article does not specify the name of the Real Madrid legend returning to the club.
