Real Madrid managerial target would ‘think about’ the opportunity to return to Bernabeu – report

The former Chelsea manager is fully aware of the speculation surrounding the Bernabeu dugout and, according to his entourage, believes that with a few targeted adjustments, Real Madrid would be ready to compete for major honours once again.

Mourinho knows the club intimately, having managed them between 2010 and 2013, and there remains a sense of nostalgia within certain sections of the club’s hierarchy for that era.

For now, however, no formal contact has been made. As things stand, Real Madrid have not placed a call to Mourinho, and the coach remains focused on finishing the season with Benfica in the best possible manner.

He holds a contract with the Lisbon club until June 2027, though a mutual exit clause exists that would allow either party to terminate the agreement this summer.

Mourinho’s camp insists it would be “very difficult” for him to walk away from a commitment he has made, but acknowledges that a call from Real Madrid would be a different matter entirely.
