Real Madrid renewal talks with 25-year-old star complicated by huge wage difference
Contract talks between Vinicius Jr. and Real Madrid are facing a major obstacle as both parties continue to remain far apart financially.
According to reports from Ramon Alvarez de Mon, negotiations between the two parties have slowed significantly because of the salary demands being requested by the Brazilian star’s camp.
Vinicius’ representatives are pushing for a package worth close to €30 million net per season, while Real Madrid are currently unwilling to go beyond approximately €20 million net.
That gap is understood to be the central reason why no agreement has been reached yet.
The situation is particularly delicate because Vinicius is one of the faces of the club, both on and off the pitch.
The 25-year-old’s importance has only increased following the departures and ageing of several senior figures, and Madrid internally view him as one of the pillars of the next generation.
However, despite the player repeatedly expressing his desire to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu for many years, the financial side of the negotiations is creating growing uncertainty.
Vinicius Jr.'s representatives are asking for nearly €30 million per season, while Real Madrid is offering about €20 million.
The negotiations are complicated by a substantial financial disagreement over the player's salary demands.
Vinicius Jr. is 25 years old, and his renewal talks with Real Madrid are currently stalled due to wage differences.

Real Madrid are also cautious about how they structure the new agreement.
The club does not want to create a dangerous precedent by offering massive renewal bonuses or excessively inflated salaries that could later affect future negotiations with other stars in the dressing room.
Maintaining wage balance is of extreme importance, especially with several young players expected to demand improved contracts in the near future.
One particular scenario that worries Madrid is the possibility of the contract entering its final stages without an agreement.
If Vinicius reaches January 2027 without renewing, he would legally be free to negotiate with any club as a free agent.
For a player of his age, quality and commercial value, such a situation would be unprecedented for Real Madrid.
For now, both sides remain calm, but the longer negotiations continue without progress, the bigger this story could become inside the Spanish capital.
