Real Madrid unlikely to go on an overseas tour for pre-season this summer

With the season pretty much over Real Madrid, plans for the summer window and preparations for the future are already underway.

The focus is on identifying and appointing a new manager to replace Alvaro Arbeloa and strengthening the squad for the next campaign. At the same time, Los Blancos must also get their pre-season plans in order.

With the FIFA World Cup set to take place in North America, the possibility of touring the USA for the pre-season has pretty much been ruled out.

No abroad trip

Now, according to The Athletic, there is a growing sense within Real Madrid that they may not even go on an overseas tour for the pre-season this summer.

While nothing is set in stone for now and the plans are expected to be finalised at a later stage, early indicators suggest that there will be no trip abroad.

Real Madrid’s pre-season last year was also affected because of the FIFA Club World Cup, following which they flew to Austria to play only one friendly against Tirol.

This time around, as per the report, the Spanish capital club could be involved in the , an annual competition organised by Deportivo La Coruna, who are celebrating their 120th anniversary.
