4 star safety Malakai Taufoou from Junipero Serra HS, CA also recently narrowed his recruitment down to a to a top 5 list. The Huskies made the list along with BYU, Cal, Oregon, and Penn State. The Huskies have been pushing hard for Taufoou for a while and it looks like it could be a UW and Cal battle right now for him. Taufoou is rated as the 34th best safety in the country by 247Sports and has a bigger frame that the Huskies are looking for (he’s listed at 6’2” and around 200 pounds). Last season he had 46 total tackles, 6 TFL’s and 4 interceptions. The Huskies are set to host Taufoou for an official visit on June 19th and if they can hold him off from committing before that official visit they should have a really good chance to reel him in.
