Four-star QB Donald Tabron II praised his recent visit to Michigan and received an offer from Ohio State. Other recruits, including DB Tavares Harrington and LB Brayden Watson, are also considering Michigan as they prepare for official visits.
2028 four-star Donald Tabron II is a highly sought after quarterback in the junior class, and especially for the Wolverines considering he’s a Top 50 talent and from the state of Michigan. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Cass Tech star was recently back in Ann Arbor and he spoke glowingly about his trip. “My latest visit to Michigan was a great experience,” Tabron told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong ($). “Being around the staff and seeing how everything operates really stood out. What excites me most is the mentality of grit and the opportunity to develop under coach (Kyle) Whittingham and compete at a high level. The tradition and standard of the Maize and Blue definitely make it a special place.” Michigan is far from his only option, as Tabron also holds offers from schools like Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, Michigan State and many others. He was also offered by Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes last week. “What stands out about Ohio State is the level of competition and development,” Tabron said. “They have a proven track record of getting guys to the next level at all positions and succeeding as well. The energy around the program is different. It’s a place where you’re pushed every day, and that opportunity really excites me.” There is a long ways to go before Tabron signs his letter of intent, but Michigan will continue chipping away in hopes of landing another star quarterback from the state of Michigan.

Among the top defensive back targets for the Wolverines in 2027 is four-star Tavares Harrington. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, the versatile Chicago prospect could lineup at cornerback or safety at the collegiate level. Tyler Stockton is his lead recruiter for the Wolverines, so it appears he could be a safety at Michigan. He visited earlier this spring and revealed to On3’s Ethan McDowell ($) that Michigan is “definitely a top school for me right now.” Harrington enjoyed his trip so much that he rearranged his official visit schedule so Michigan gets his last stop of the summer and spend some time with another Chicago recruit in four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell. “I was still interested because of the production of DBs and the Chicago pipeline they have going on,” Harrington said. “They do a great job of recruiting Chicago and playing Chicago guys.” Harrington initially thought about announcing a commitment on June 27, but he isn’t ruling out an earlier commitment so he can focus on recruiting his future teammates. Other schools in his top list include Alabama, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn and Nebraska.
Linebacker is a big need for the Wolverines in the 2027 cycle, and one of their top targets is three-star Brayden Watson. The Buford, Georgia product — who is 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds — got his offer from Michigan in January and took his first trip to Ann Arbor a few weeks ago. The visit went so well that Watson told On3’s McDowell ($) that Michigan is “definitely” one of his top schools. “They made sure to show us a lot,” Watson said. “This is the most I was exposed to on an unofficial. I thought most of these things were things to do on an official, but they sent the house so for us two. We just had a bunch of meetings, and they took me bowling. “They just catered to our every need. It definitely seemed like I was a priority. It felt like family. It was a great feeling, for sure. I was able to sit down with the DC by himself, the head coach by himself.” Watson’s parents also enjoyed the trip, especially his dad, who apparently said “I don’t know what my son’s doing, but I’m committing.” Watson will return to Michigan the weekend of June 19 for his official visit, the only official visit he has on the schedule as of now. He also has offers from USC, Oregon, Mississippi State, Pitt, Wake Forest and more.
