BOSTON — Red Sox left-hander Ranger Suarez will face his former team Thursday when Boston hosts the Phillies at Fenway Park.
Suarez will make his first start since May 3, when he left a game against the Astros due to right hamstring tightness.
The Phillies and Red Sox will play a three-game series at Fenway Park on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Interim manager Chad Tracy announced the pitching plans for each game.
Brayan Bello will pitch after an opener on Tuesday. Sonny Gray will start Wednesday.
“Everything is good there (with Suarez) so he’s slated to throw on Thursday,” Tracy said after Boston’s 4-1 loss to the Rays on Sunday.

They brought in Bello for the second inning after using as an opener in the first inning. Bello had his best game this season, allowing just one run in seven innings to earn the victory.
