Unfortunately for the Boston Red Sox, they've struggled to get production from that critical lineup spot this year. Entering Monday's series finale against the Detroit Tigers, the Red Sox have gotten a league-worst .134/.253/.195 batting line from the two-hole this season.
That lack of production is dragging down Boston's offense, which ranks 24th in runs per game, 27th in OPS and last in home runs.
Alex Cora has already tried many different hitters in the two-hole, including Trevor Story, , , Andrew Monasterio and . None of them has clicked, however.

The Red Sox's offense desperately needs a spark, and getting more production from the two-hole would help a lot. Cora can keep tinkering with the lineup, but at some point someone needs to step up and start producing there.
