The Boston Red Sox are struggling mightily on offense and lack power in the lineup.

Their 13 home runs are tied with the San Francisco Giants for dead last in the Majors. Many of the stars they expect production from are simply not getting the job done at the plate.

Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer proposed a trade idea that would bring in one of the best sluggers in baseball.

"With the Houston Astros spiraling toward the end of their dynasty, it's fair to wonder if they'll open up to offers for their most valuable trade asset: Yordan Alvarez," Rymer wrote Wednesday.

Rymer lists the Red Sox as a top two landing spot for Alvarez, whose 10 home runs are just three less than Boston's entire roster. When healthy, the 28-year-old is a yearly MVP candidate who can change the trajectory of a lineup by himself.

"Alvarez is the game-changer the Red Sox need to lift their offense and get them out of a pattern of close games," he added. "He's also one of few hitters who could match up with if an October grudge match with the comes to fruition."
