Despite rattling off three straight wins, the Boston Red Sox still aren't where they want to be in the final days of April. They enter play on Tuesday last in the AL East atĀ 12-17.
While the Red Sox overhauled their coaching staff over the weekend and have shown signs of turning things around lately, they still have some work to do if they want to climb back into contention and make the playoffs again.
During his radio appearance on WEEI on Tuesday, team president and CEO Sam Kennedy accepted some blame on behalf of Boston's front office for the team's slow start.
"Absolutely. We have culpability when the franchise is not performing at the level that we hold ourselves to," Kennedy said. "So the short answer is yes, for sure."
Craig Breslow has also taken some accountability for not giving Alex Cora the best roster to work with, particularly on the position player side.
The Boston Red Sox currently have a record of 12-17.

Kennedy reiterated that many in the organization deserve blame for the club's poor play, including himself.
"There's plenty of blame to go around. The guy you're speaking to now deserves blame, and we don't run from that," Kennedy added.
