The Boston Red Sox's starting rotation continues to get healthier with star pitcher Sonny Gray making his return to the rotation earlier this week. Ranger Suárez is also expected back for the Red Sox's series against the Philadelphia Phillies this week.

Though Boston is getting some of its top pitchers returning from injury, ace hurler Garrett Crochet's return does not seem imminent after he was placed on the 15-day injured list on April 29 with left shoulder inflammation.

Crochet is making progress in his recovery, but interim manager Chad Tracy acknowledged that the 26-year-old star has yet to throw off a mound, according to The Boston Globe's Tim Healey.

"Garrett Crochet is still just playing catch -- out past 100 feet, Chad Tracy said -- but hasn’t gotten on the mound yet," Healey shared in a post to X on Saturday. "So his return is not imminent."

Crochet was optimistic that he would be activated off the injured list immediately after the minimum time. It's a good sign that he does not have any structural damage, but it's troubling that the 26-year-old has yet to pitch off a mound and progress further.
