Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas has unfortunately been dealing with some injuries over the past year and a half, and it doesn't sound like the situation is getting any better anytime soon.
Casas was expected to be a big piece of this organization just a few seasons ago, but a lot of these injuries have left things in a rather strange situation. According to the latest, after having surgery on his patellar tendon, the big left-handed hitting infielder is now dealing with an abdominal strain and will be shut down from baseball activity until he feels better.
âCasas began the regular season on the injured list to finish up his recovery from patellar tendon surgery but began to have problems with his left side after he resumed a swinging progression.
"Now that heâs been confirmed to be dealing with an abdominal strain, the 26-year-old will be shut down from all activity until he begins to feel better. The Red Sox will then begin to build him up in a similar fashion to spring training, at which point a clearer timeline for his return to play could emerge,â RotoWire wrote.
Abdominal strains can be tricky at times, so the Red Sox and Casas will have to be as safe as possible with this. Unfortunately, that could mean that we don't see him for another couple of months, obviously something that nobody was hoping for early on.
