Report: Bayern Munich sets price limit on Givairo Read

Bayern are unwilling to pay more than €30m for Givairo Read. The club have known the Dutchman for a long time and want him, but they consider that to be a lot of money for a right-back. Is Bayern being too stingy with full-back investment? The Bavarians have a right to feel gun-shy. €30M is around the sum shelled out for Sacha Boey, and that really did not work out in what in hindsight is viewed as a desperation winter transfer window move. And Bayern has invested a big salary in — perhaps with some regret? — and may feel it is already allocating more than the full-back positions deserve. But it has also been a long time since Bayern has struck gold in full-back and specifically right-back recruitment, not counting , who arrived as a midfielder. Laimer’s contract extension status is uncertain, and Bayern is not really in a position to wait around for only the most favorable terms.
