Report claims Arsenal have "strong chance" to sign RB Leipzig defender
Having been linked with a move away from RB Leipzig for some time, Castello Lukeba could potentially be on the move this summer.
One of the interested clubs is Arsenal, according to Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk, who estimates the Gunners’ chances of signing the Frenchman as “strong”.
According to a report published on cfbayerninsider.com, Arsenal have long been monitoring Lukeba and have watched him live, with the 23-year-old "among their priority targets" as head coach Mikel Arteta looks to add fresh competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães at the heart of defence.
Leipzig could reportedly be open to offers starting at €60 million for the centre-back.
Falk also reports that Bayern Munich currently look unlikely to make a move for Lukeba.
Board member for sport Max Eberl knows the Frenchman well from his time at RB Leipzig and rates him highly, but Bayern are satisfied with their current centre-back pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah and don't want to spend big on a backup. Lukeba also has no interest in playing such a role.
