According to Juanfe Sanz via El Chiringuito TV, the Referees’ Technical Committee (CTA) are set to hold a meeting to review the incident that has sparked widespread debate.

As per the journalist, while there is no unanimous agreement yet, early indications suggest the decision could swing in Real Madrid’s favour, with a growing belief that the play may be judged as a penalty.

What happened to Mbappe?

The controversy stems from a late moment in the match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the 89th minute, Mbappe drove into the penalty area from the right flank before being caught by an elbow from Vitor Reis.

The contact left the forward with a deep cut above his right eyebrow, causing immediate and heavy bleeding.

Despite the severity of the impact, the match referee chose not to award a foul.
