The Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen will be without its closer, right-hander Edwin Diaz, for some time, as Diaz lands on the injured list. According to USA Today Columnist Bob Nightengale, Diaz is dealing with loose bodies in his right elbow.
Nightengale adds that Diaz had not pitched in the last nine days and was ârockedâ in his outing on Sunday against the Colorado Rockies. The three-time All-Star allowed three earned runs and didnât record an out in his appearance.

Left-hander Jake Eder will take Diazâs place on the active roster. Eder, 27, had pitched well in his three appearances at Triple-A Oklahoma City, having a 3.38 ERA in three appearances.
Despite Diaz hitting the injured list, the Dodgers and manager Dave Roberts have an option available to fill in at closer. Left-hander Tanner Scott is one option, as he was the Miami Marlins closer in 2024 (18 saves) before he was traded to the that season and was their closer (four saves).
