Inter Milan plans to overhaul its squad this summer, with Davide Frattesi, Francesco Acerbi, and Matteo Darmian expected to leave the club. The restructuring aims to rejuvenate the team for the upcoming season.
Report: Frattesi, Acerbi & Darmian to leave Inter as part of summer squad overhaul
Inter are already planning a significant summer restructuring, with Sky Sport journalist Andrea Paventi reporting that Davide Frattesi, Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian are all expected to depart at the end of the season as part of a broader rejuvenation project at the club.

Frattesi’s exit appears the most clear-cut of the three.
The Italy international has struggled to nail down a regular starting role under Cristian Chivu and has frequently been asked to fulfil positional responsibilities that do not suit his natural strengths.
“I believe Frattesi will leave at the end of the season, I think it is also in the player’s own interest,” Paventi said, via FCInter1908. “In this team he is difficult to place. He has struggled positionally and was sometimes asked to track back defensively. I think for his own good he can leave Inter.”
They are expected to depart as part of a significant summer squad overhaul aimed at rejuvenating the team.
The overhaul suggests a strategic shift for Inter Milan, potentially impacting their performance and competitiveness in the next season.
While specific replacements have not been mentioned, the club is likely to target new signings to strengthen the squad.

Acerbi and Darmian are also expected to depart, with both players approaching the end of their contracts and the club’s desire to lower the average age of the squad making their exits a natural conclusion to their Inter careers.
On the midfield picture more broadly, Paventi indicated that Aleksander Stankovic’s return is anticipated, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s future will also be assessed, with a parting of ways at season’s end also possible.
Andy Diouf, meanwhile, represents a longer-term investment whose role will depend heavily on the tactical shape Chivu adopts going forward.
The overhaul, while significant, reflects a calculated transition rather than a panic, with the Nerazzurri intent on maintaining their competitive level while injecting youth into a squad that has aged considerably during their recent years of domestic dominance.
