In the opening game of the play-in tournament, the Golden State Warriors had a fairly clean injury report, outside of the players ruled out for the season, like Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, they were only missing Quinten Post due to a foot injury. Yet, in the second leg of the play-in, one of Golden State's key pieces made an appearance on the injury report for Friday night's contest against the Phoenix Suns.
Kristaps Porzingis was listed on the injury report with right ankle soreness. However, before Friday's contest, the Warriors may have some positive news regarding the 7-foot-2 Latvian's ankle.
According to Anthony Slater of ESPN, Porzingis is expected to play on Friday despite being listed on the injury report ahead of Golden State's contest against the Suns. Porzingis was dealing with a limp and had to have his ankle tapped after the Warriors' win over the Clippers on Wednesday.
Porzingis was a major factor in the Warriors' 126-121 win over the Clippers, scoring 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field with five rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 28 minutes.
The Warriors are set to meet the Suns in a win-or-go-home contest on Friday night at Phoenix, with the opening tip-off set for 7 p.m. PT.
